International Festival of Amateur Theatrs "The Bridge"
In May, Tbilisi will host the first International Amateur Theater Festival “The Bridge”.
In Tbilisi, with the support of the City Hall of Tbilisi and the Embassy of Ukraine in Georgia from May 19 to May 23 in 2023 “The Bridge” International Amateur Theater Festival will be held. 8 teams from Georgia, Ukraine, Poland, Israel, Turkey, Spain and Germany will take part in it.
“Every person has a voice and our first International Amateur Theater Festival “The Bridge” will become the voice of those who want to support the Ukrainian people through art. We also want to motivate and involve as many people as possible in creativity. The first International Amateur Theater Festival "The Bridge" is aimed at raising the level of mutual understanding and trust between people through theatrical creativity, building bridges in the whole world, with countries that are against Russian aggression, because each of us is the voice of art, the voice that cannot be silenced in such a difficult time for Ukraine,” says festival organizer Yulia Andguladze.
During "The Bridge" festival the audience will be able to see performances and author's productions, and the participants will be able to attend a number of masterclasses and share the theatrical experience. Amateur theaters will present their performances in the language of their country, showing that theatrical art unites people.
“On May 21, we will hold the Day of Solidarity with the People of Ukraine, where all creative teams - festival participants, festival guests, spectators will become participants in the “No War in Ukraine!” flashmob. All funds from the sale of tickets for the performances of the festival will be directed to the implementation of the project, which is aimed at the psychological rehabilitation of people who suffered from the war in Ukraine and live in Georgia,— to the organization “Volunteers Tbilisi”. Namely, the "Theatre of Healing" at the Artboom center - drama and art therapy, with the involvement of professional specialists who know how dangerous post-traumatic syndrome is. — says the organizer of the first International Amateur Theater Festival "The Bridge" Yulia Andguladze.
